Spatial Design
Building a spatial experience
This assignment allowed me to explore space design through visual perception and emotions. I created a storytelling narrative, a 3D model, and drawings to transform a simple form into a dynamic spatial experience. Through city interventions, I designed spaces that convey messages, evoke emotions, and break boundaries.
Concept Statement
This project targets young adults aged 20-30, symbolizing their emotional transition from conflict to stability through a transitional space on Al-Yamamah Walkway in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Geometric shapes, materials, and lighting are used to reflect different emotional stages, with the journey representing the progression from youth to wisdom. The space evolves from instability and internal conflict to order and stability, using elements like changing heights, skylights, and diverse materials to enhance the experience.
Create Gathering Spaces
This project explored how design fosters community interaction and a sense of ownership. In a two-student group, we proposed a public gathering space, balancing public and private relationships through storytelling and spatial design.
Concept Statement
The gathering space is located in Red Sea Mall, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, designed to provide a calming environment for nursing mothers. The interior features light green tones to symbolize growth, while natural sunlight enters through the roof, creating a peaceful atmosphere. The spiral shape of the space offers privacy and comfort, allowing mothers to feel surrounded yet enclosed in their own space, with the reassurance that they are in the company of other mothers.
Compact Living
The assignment focused on compact living design, catering to a single user in a limited space. A creative design solution was developed, emphasizing smart organization, flexible design, and the use of smart technologies to maximize functionality within a small area.
Concept Statement
The goal was to create an experience where the client could have everything they enjoy in one place, with a well-thought-out space arrangement and carefully designed furniture, color palette, lighting, and materials. The main priority was to ensure the client felt comfortable in their apartment.
